Legal Career

Damiane “Dianne” Curvey has nearly 16 years of experience representing individuals, business

owners and other professionals from East Texas to El Paso. Attorney Curvey has handled almost

two thousand family law, criminal, juvenile, and probate matters. While trial court litigation is

key to her practice, she also conducts mediations for other colleagues who have family law

cases. This allows her the opportunity to resolve even more family law cases and to use her

sound judgement to assist those who seek out her services.

About Us

Most important to Attorney Curvey is her large mentorship program that she created for young attorneys who desire to work as sole-practitioners. She understands how difficult it can be to navigate the waters of Family Law and has dedicated her life to making the "sole-practitioner" road easier for attorneys who follow her lead. She assists these attorneys with strategy, interpretation of the Family Code, negotiations with opposing counsel, and hearings, including trials. Her goal is to "go out and do good, like Thurgood". (Thurgood Marshall, Supreme Court Justice).

LEGAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  •  In April, 2008, Dianne watched news reports as investigators and Children’s Protective Services raided the Yearning for Zion (YFZ) Ranch in El Dorado, Texas and removed over 400 FLDS (Fundamental Latter Day Saints) children from the only homes they have known. She volunteered her time and resources to travel to San Angelo, Texas, and was able to remain unbiased and focused on the applicable law. Ultimately, the families were reunited and the case against the FLDS was dismissed, as there was never any probable cause to remove the children from their homes.
  • Attorney Curvey volunteers her time and resources on a weekly basis to represent parents with alcohol and drug addictions who are involved with Children's Protective Services. Her main goal is to provide mentorship and legal guidance for these families as they navigate this system in hopes of regaining custody of their children.
